Life is good

Hello everyone!

This week has been a great week. I am really loving the work here in Bais. We have actually had a super busy week. Just seems like we haven't had time to breathe haha! But its good. I would rather be busy  than not. We have had some great teaching visits this last week.
We have been teaching a couple,  Brother Michael and sister Grace. They are super great. They are super interested in the gospel. The problem is that they are super super poor right now. Mike doesn't have a job and they have two kids. They are recieving no help from family or really anyone. It breaks my heart to see their situation. Because they are such good people and genuine about learning the gospel. Brother Mike actually asked us if we could help them at all even a little bit financially. We were sad to tell them that we can't, but we can continue teaching them about what will help them the most, more than anything else, the gospel. We committed them to come to church and promised them blessings if they would. And it was amazing to see Mike show up to church on Sunday! It was really awesome. We are going to continue working with them and teaching them.

I am still loving my mission and life. Life is good. I would not rather be anywhere else at this point in my life. It just blows my mind that I haven't been home for the last 11 months. Crazy how fast time flies by. Its good though. Coming up on my year mark, and I am starting to realize that I have grown and improved so much because of the mission. I love it. I am grateful for it all.

I love you all and hope your'e doing great.

Tie trading and Tagalog!

Hello everyone!

This week has flown by! The weeks just go by so fast these days, I can't believe that we are already coming up on August. I had a good week here in the great city of Bais! We have been staying really busy teaching our investigators and the members here. We were able to teach one couple, Brother Micheal and Sister Grace, and it was all in English and Tagalog. Micheal is from Luzon and doesn't know how to speak Visaya so we were forced to use Tagalog and English. And let me tell you, it is really hard to teach a lesson in English after teaching in nothing but Cebauno for the last 11 months. Haaha it was really hard. But we had a great lesson with them and now were just trying to help them get to church. They are really really good and are progressing really well. They said they had plans to go to church this last Sunday, but their daughter had to go to the hospital cause she got really sick. But they are looking to God during their times of trial and its just a great time for them to hear this wonderful message about the Restoration of the Gospel.

We have been having a great time while working as well. I am definatly becoming a better person through this mission. I have realized that it is helping me in so many different ways. Example...Last week as we were walking home, we saw a Joe ( an other white guy-usually mean) walking down the road with his wife or girl friend. And just being friendly, I said "Good evening!" And the response I got back from this guys was "Yeah whatever...Kill yourself.." and he continued walking and cussing under his breath. Haha I was completely surprised at the rudeness and disrespect of this guys haha. Usually if that were to happen back home I would have fired back at the guy and give him a piece of my mind. But I was able to hold back. haha

But the rest of the week was great. I really enjoyed it. I am loving life and am loving teaching the gospel every single day. I know that its the only thing that will bring us true happiness in life.

Keep being the best back there in the good ole US of A! Love you all

Stop and pick us up

Hello everyone!

This week has been great. We have been staying busy with teaching our less actives and recent converts and investigators. Everything is going so well. We have 4 investigators with a baptismal date right now. It is really great. I am so grateful that people are willing to listen to our message and experiment on it for themselves. We have been able to teach some really good lessons about the power of prayer and sincerely asking God for answers. I know that as we continue to pray and ask our Heavenly Father for help and guidance in our lives we will recieve it.

We got stranded up in one of our most far areas this last week haha. The dang bus services wouldn't stop and pick us up! So we ended up hiking back to the main highway for an hour! It was so far haha! We were coming down from the mountains so it was dark and ahhh it was so tiring haha!

But I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Still raining

Hey everyone!

I am sorry this week is going to be short, the internet here in Bais is pretty sketchy. My computer has shut off on me twice now for no reason haha. But this week has been really really good. Still raining but its great. We have been able to teach two new investigators this last week and they both came to church after our first invitation which was amazing. We were really excited about it. We are planning on inviting them to baptism on our next visit. We are continuing on to work and find and help people recieve the gospel.

Elder Magbaleta and I are doing great. He is the bomb, I like having him as my comp. Sorry there are no pictures....I think my camera card caught a virus. I think I lost all my mission pictures, but I might be able to get them back if I try and clean it up. Hopefully they will come back!

Love You all have a great week!

Bais

Hello everyone!

I guess I should start by letting everyone know that I got transfered to Bais! I don't know how I let it slip my mind lastweek, but transfer calls came and I got transfered here to Bais. Which is still on Negros! Haha I will be spending at least the first year of my mission here on Negros haha! But my new area is great! The branch here is super super strong! The members are great and our teaching pool is pretty solid. We have been staying busy this last week. Here in Bais, it is a lot more out in the mountains and in the sugar cane fields than Zambo. It is awesome though. It has been raining like crazy lately and is super muddy everywhere we go! But I love it a lot. My companion is Elder Magbaleta who is the bomb. I like him a lot. Me and him are getting a long great.

It is great to have a change of pace and be in a different area. I am loving it. I have really been having some good studies in the scriptures lately. I love being able to study and teach everyday. I am learning a ton. I don't have any crazy stories or anything this week, but hopefully next week I will. I love you all and hope you're all doing great! Have a great week!

Crazy Eric

Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a great week. I had another fast, but good one. I really enjoyed it. This last week we focused on teaching some of our recent converts and other members to try and help the branch out. For the last two weeks our recent converts at church have been very few so we have been trying to help them. We also were able to get our baptismal canidate interviewed and ready for his baptism this Saturday. He is so awesome and ready. I have seen a huge change in him. It has been amazing to be apart of it.
It has continued to rain every single day this week. Gotta keep them bags on your head! Haha funny story,,,,,there is this phsyco guy here in Zambo named Crazy Eric. He is so funny haha I took a picture with him on Friday night. I got my picture with him and he continued down the road on his bike. A few seconds later this other crazy woman went chasing after Eric screaming at him and cussing at him and tried throwing a rock at him. Luckily it only hit his bike. But then she turned and came at me and Elder Ral and was screaming "Why don't you take pictures with me!?" It scared me haha not going to lie. Me and Elder Ral just quickly got away from her. But it was a funny thing that happened this week. I still love it out here and am doing great. I love you all!
Have a great week!

Bag head

Hey everyone!

This has been a really rainy but good week! It is definitely the rainy season! Haha but despite being wet all the time, it has been a great week. Elder Ral and I have been teaching a lot of our recent converts this last week. We also taught a lot of members and some less actives. Our IBD is getting ready for his interview this Saturday which is great. He is great. He has not had any problems with the word of wisdom since we taught it. I am so proud of him. We also have some new investigators that have some potential. So the work is going well here in Zambo. Just keep workin hard!

With all the rain lately, there have been a lot of flooding in certain areas. One day we rode a trike out to one of our areas and it was fine when we got there but as we were walking back, the road was flooded over and we had to cross it to get home. It was pretty cool haha.

I am still loving everything out here. I am learning so much and just really learning what is important in life. I hope you are all doing great! I love you all and miss you! Have a great week!

P.S.     It doesn't matter if your whole body is soaking wet, as long as your hair doesn't get wet! People out here
always put bags on their heads when its raining so they won't get wet. Haha
