Weekly letterrrrrrrrrr - Week 52

Hey everyone!

This week was kinda an interesting one! To start, I got super sick on Friday and wasnt' able to work. And then just yesterday I had to go to Dumaguete to have a bunch of painful warts removed from my foot haha. It was painful but its all good now.

We have been really busy teaching people lately. We have so many people to visit but no time to do it. But its a good problem to have haha. We actually visited one of our IBDs (Investigator's with Baptismal Dates) this last week for the first time. She has come to church for 3 weeks and just this last week we were able to actually visit her. She lives about an hour and a half hike back into the mountains and jungle. It was the craziest and farthest hike I have been on to visit an investigator. It was seriously like hiking through the mountains back at home. It was an adventure. But it was just a huge testimony builder because its super hard to get investigators at chruch. And this sister has been coming for 3 weeks in a row, without us teaching her at all. Its amazing. She says that she just loves the feeling after she goes to church at our church. She notices a difference and is willing to make the trip every week.

I am doing really well out here. I am halfway through my mission now. Tomorrow I hit my one year mark. It is so crazy I can't believe it. It all goes by so fast. I will be going home before I know it. But hey I still have a whole year to give it my all and do my best. And that is what I plan on doing. I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Mission Tour

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a great week. I had a pretty good week here in the Philippines. We had a mission tour so we were able to go to Cebu for three days. Elder Hayne was able to speak to us and it was a great conference. I learned a lot and really grew from the conference. Other than our trip to Cebu, we had just a pretty good week of teaching and meeting new people. We contiunued to teach Mike. He is still going through so many trials with family and financial situation but he still progressing. We also have been able to teach a lot new people.

My time here on my mission is going well, and really fast if i do say haha. But I am enjoying it. I have learned so much continue progressing every day.

Sorry I am short, I don't have a ton time today. I love you all and hope you are all doing great! Have a great week!

Peace

Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great week this last week. I had a great one myself here in Bias. I don't have a ton of time today but I do have a really cool experience to share from the week. Our investigator, Mike, has been doing really really well. We taught him this last week and during the lesson, he told us his testimony of the Book of Mormon. He told me and my companion that while he reads the Book of Mormon, he feels peace, and accepted. He has been going through some of the hardest times in his life lately and has been recieving a lot of critisism from family and friends, and it was sick because he told us that everytime he reads, he feels so good. I know that I have shared a lot about the Book of Mormon in past emails, But it is seriously the biggest help in our lives. I know that no matter what we go through, it will help. Its just truly amazing.

Transfer calls came last night. Elder Magbaleta will be transfering to Cebu and I will be staying here in Bais. My new comp is Elder Pantilo. I have never met him before but I heard he is pretty chill. I am stoked for the upcoming transfer.

I love you all and hope you are doing good. Miss you all! Have a great week!

Life is good

Hello everyone!

This week has been a great week. I am really loving the work here in Bais. We have actually had a super busy week. Just seems like we haven't had time to breathe haha! But its good. I would rather be busy  than not. We have had some great teaching visits this last week.
We have been teaching a couple,  Brother Michael and sister Grace. They are super great. They are super interested in the gospel. The problem is that they are super super poor right now. Mike doesn't have a job and they have two kids. They are recieving no help from family or really anyone. It breaks my heart to see their situation. Because they are such good people and genuine about learning the gospel. Brother Mike actually asked us if we could help them at all even a little bit financially. We were sad to tell them that we can't, but we can continue teaching them about what will help them the most, more than anything else, the gospel. We committed them to come to church and promised them blessings if they would. And it was amazing to see Mike show up to church on Sunday! It was really awesome. We are going to continue working with them and teaching them.

I am still loving my mission and life. Life is good. I would not rather be anywhere else at this point in my life. It just blows my mind that I haven't been home for the last 11 months. Crazy how fast time flies by. Its good though. Coming up on my year mark, and I am starting to realize that I have grown and improved so much because of the mission. I love it. I am grateful for it all.

I love you all and hope your'e doing great.

Tie trading and Tagalog!

Hello everyone!

This week has flown by! The weeks just go by so fast these days, I can't believe that we are already coming up on August. I had a good week here in the great city of Bais! We have been staying really busy teaching our investigators and the members here. We were able to teach one couple, Brother Micheal and Sister Grace, and it was all in English and Tagalog. Micheal is from Luzon and doesn't know how to speak Visaya so we were forced to use Tagalog and English. And let me tell you, it is really hard to teach a lesson in English after teaching in nothing but Cebauno for the last 11 months. Haaha it was really hard. But we had a great lesson with them and now were just trying to help them get to church. They are really really good and are progressing really well. They said they had plans to go to church this last Sunday, but their daughter had to go to the hospital cause she got really sick. But they are looking to God during their times of trial and its just a great time for them to hear this wonderful message about the Restoration of the Gospel.

We have been having a great time while working as well. I am definatly becoming a better person through this mission. I have realized that it is helping me in so many different ways. Example...Last week as we were walking home, we saw a Joe ( an other white guy-usually mean) walking down the road with his wife or girl friend. And just being friendly, I said "Good evening!" And the response I got back from this guys was "Yeah whatever...Kill yourself.." and he continued walking and cussing under his breath. Haha I was completely surprised at the rudeness and disrespect of this guys haha. Usually if that were to happen back home I would have fired back at the guy and give him a piece of my mind. But I was able to hold back. haha

But the rest of the week was great. I really enjoyed it. I am loving life and am loving teaching the gospel every single day. I know that its the only thing that will bring us true happiness in life.

Keep being the best back there in the good ole US of A! Love you all

Stop and pick us up

Hello everyone!

This week has been great. We have been staying busy with teaching our less actives and recent converts and investigators. Everything is going so well. We have 4 investigators with a baptismal date right now. It is really great. I am so grateful that people are willing to listen to our message and experiment on it for themselves. We have been able to teach some really good lessons about the power of prayer and sincerely asking God for answers. I know that as we continue to pray and ask our Heavenly Father for help and guidance in our lives we will recieve it.

We got stranded up in one of our most far areas this last week haha. The dang bus services wouldn't stop and pick us up! So we ended up hiking back to the main highway for an hour! It was so far haha! We were coming down from the mountains so it was dark and ahhh it was so tiring haha!

But I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Still raining

Hey everyone!

I am sorry this week is going to be short, the internet here in Bais is pretty sketchy. My computer has shut off on me twice now for no reason haha. But this week has been really really good. Still raining but its great. We have been able to teach two new investigators this last week and they both came to church after our first invitation which was amazing. We were really excited about it. We are planning on inviting them to baptism on our next visit. We are continuing on to work and find and help people recieve the gospel.

Elder Magbaleta and I are doing great. He is the bomb, I like having him as my comp. Sorry there are no pictures....I think my camera card caught a virus. I think I lost all my mission pictures, but I might be able to get them back if I try and clean it up. Hopefully they will come back!

Love You all have a great week!
